F2 Logistics rips Cignal, gains final
MANILA, Philippines - Aby Marano and Ara Galang fired 11 hits apiece as F2 Logistics overpowered Cignal HD, 25-15, 25-15, 25-15, to clinch the first finals berth in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan last night.
Marano and Galang spearheaded the Cargo Movers’ attack with 18 of the squad’s 34 total spikes with the former accounting for three of F2 Logistics’ five blocks.
The Cargo Movers thus got back at the HD Spikers, who beat them in four in the prelims.
F2 Logistics will face the winner in the other semis match between Petron and Foton in the best-of-three title showdown starting Tuesday at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.
Meanwhile, Cocolife and Sta. Lucia will dispute fifth place while Generika-Ayala and Cherrylume clash for seventh when the league moves to De La Salle Sentrum in Lipa City tomorrow.
Majoy Baron also delivered five of F2 Logistics’ 10 aces and added 10 points to help tow the team to a 21-12 bulge in the third before Marano closed out the match with a block.
“We worked hard on our receives and (their) fast attacks and concentrated on our blocking. I saw the great conditioning of the team so I had a feeling that we will end it early,” said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus.
Superliga games are aired on PTV 5.
