Poliquit, Tabal lead Milo national marathon cast

MANILA, Philippines - Two-time champion Rafael Poliquit and three-time winner Mary Joy Tabal brace for a fierce showdown with a slew of rivals in their respective divisions as they banner the huge cast in the National Milo Marathon national finals firing off Sunday in Iloilo City.

Over 20,000 runners are expected to join the milestone 40th staging of the event, which gathers the top finishers in various elims held in the country’s key provinces and cities for the country’s premier running competition with Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog ensuring a  smooth and successful staging.

“We are all excited to be hosting the most prestigious and longest running footrace in the country,” said Mabilog. “We are honored to be part of the historic culminating event of the National Milo Marathon’s 40th anniversary.”

Andrew Neri, Milo Sports marketing manager, also expressed his enthusiasm for the grand event and thanked those who have made the season’s success possible.

“We are very thankful to all our friends from the local government, our partners, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone else who have contributed greatly to this finale,” said Neri.
