San Beda-B downs AMA in Fr. Martin cagefest

MANILA, Philippines – The San Beda-B Red Lions prevailed over AMA Computer University, 75-66, last Saturday in the 13th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup basketball tournament at the Arellano University gymnasium in Legarda, Manila.

Davon Potts hit 23 points for the Red Lions, who picked up their third win in five games in Group A of the senior division.

Meanwhile, the San Sebastian College Stags prevailed over St. Michael College, 75-66, in another Group A contest.

Rhanzelle Yong chipped in 20 points while Regille Ilagan banged in 13 points for the Stags as they coasted to their second straight win.

In the junior division, AMA High School drew 23 points from Karl Bautista in stopping the San Beda Red Cubs, 68-60, for their fourth straight victory.

Enzo Serrano tallied 39 points for the Mapua Red Robins, who subdued St. Jude College, 81-72, to improve their record to 3-2 in Group A.

Byron Valencia made 12 points for the Arellano University Braves as they turned back the San Sebastian Staglets, 83-77.

The Staglets had earlier won over St. Michael, 88-84.

Lance Jomalesa fired 11 points for San Beda as they beat Philippine Cultural College, 77-47, in another high school contest.
