No. 2 pick Troy Rosario clueless on trade talks

MANILA, Philippines – PBA rookie Troy Rosario has not heard anything from Mahindra (Kia), bolstering talks that the No. 2 draft pick of Sunday’s PBA Draft is on the trade table.

“Why expect a word from them (Mahindra) when you might end up somewhere else. So just relax,” player agent Danny Espiritu told his player.

Meanwhile, Talk n Text head coach Jong Uichico, in a recent sports5.ph video, hinted at a trade that would send Rosario from Mahindra to Talk n Text.

In the video taken in Estonia during Gilas Pilipinas’ overseas tune-up, Uichico, assistant coach Josh Reyes and  teammate Matt Rosser welcomed Moala Tautuaa when his name was hollered by PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa as the No. 1 pick by the Texters during the draft proceedings.

When Tautuaa – also a member of the Gilas pool –  was presented the TnT shirt, Uichico was heard saying: “You give that (shirt) also to Troy (Rosario).”

Rosario, a national hopeful, was with the group watching on a laptop computer the draft proceedings.

Back in Manila, a Talk n Text source said they’re only ironing out “minor details” in the Rosario trade. Reports said it would be a three-way trade deal involving NLEX, which will get Kevin Alas.
