Megafiber rules Corporate Cup

MANILA, Philippines - Megafiber assembled 289 points to beat Pugo Adventure by five and capture the Seniors division crown in the 27th Camp John Hay Corporate Cup at John Hay Golf Club in Baguio Wednesday.

Composed of Rene Unson, Bing Bunye, Tony Olives and Albert MG Garcia, the Megafiber golfers led for two consecutive days to upstage their perennial rivals Pugo Adventure (Pugad) for the top plum.

Unson turned in 51 and 54 points, Bunye shot 48 and 45, Olives carded 41 and 48 while Garcia made 38 and 47 points under the Molave scoring system.

Pugo Adventure pooled 284 points to place second as Goody Ignacio scored 47 and 51, Fred Puckett put in 44 and 50, Dr. Ed Montenegro shot 42 and 47, and Park Jong Won made 42 and 50 points.  

Nueva Ecija had 263 points for third through Joel San Vicente (34, 42) Arnold Duay (42, 47), Luis Laureta (47, 50) and Gov. Tomas Joson III (39, 38).
