Gonzaga-Bautista rules 3rd Tanduay beach volley leg

MANILA, Philippines - Power duo Jovelyn Gonzaga and Nerissa Bautista flashed top form to beat a tough field and rule the third leg of the Tanduay Light Women’s Beach Volleyball Challenge at the sand court of the Cantada Sports Center in Bagumbayan, Taguig City last Sunday.

Judy Caballejo and Coyah Abanto finished second while Aiza Maizo Pontillas and Janine Marciano placed third in the event backed by sportsman Lucio “Bong” Tan Jr., Mapecon and Toyota Balintawak.

The organizing father-son tandem of Edgardo “Tito Boy” and Gerard Cantada has cited the success of the series aimed at providing first class competition and promised to put up more events.

Beach and indoor volleyball players also lauded the staging of the event, which charges no entry fees and offers participants, officials and guests complimentary meals.
