First-ever IPTL takes off in Manila

Manila in November played host to a historic International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) leg that drew international tennis stars Maria Sharapova, Andy Murray and Serena Williams among others.

Sharapova and Murray themselves played for our very own Manila Mavericks, dazzling the crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena in the three-day competition that also featured teams from India, Singapore and the UAE. Each squad had their own sets of tennis stars in their rosters.

Organizers consider the event as a success and promised to make the IPTL a fixture in the Philippine tennis scene.
