18th Founders Cup fires off at Orchard today

MANILA, Philippines - Another banner field is seeing action in the Founders Cup Invitational member-guest tournament of the Orchard Golf and Country Club which gets going today with a bonanza of prizes totalling no less than P6 million at stake.

A Mercedes-Benz C200 and Mazda CX-5 Pro SkyActive are the main items up for grabs in the 18th edition of the tourney at the Palmer and Player courses which have drawn the support of Mizuno, BDO-Visa, Petron Corp., MOET-Hennessy APP (Glen Morangie Single Malt Scotch Whisky), Sta. Lucia Realty, CATS Motors (Mercedes-Benz) and Mazda – Ford (Cavite) as major hole sponsors.

The classy Mercedes-Benz C200 Avantgarde will be won by the lucky player who shoots an ace on a designated hole at the Player course while the sleek Mazda CX-5 Pro SkyActive is on offer at the Palmer course.

These are on top of other tournament and raffle items for all participants during the two cocktail nights and the main awarding on Sunday.

Also backed by Asiana Airlines, Gran Toro Oro Trading Corp., Orchard Property Marketing Corp., Security Bank, The Turf Company and U-Freight Philippines, Inc as premium hole sponsors, the Founders Cup will put on the line a total of 10 titles including the overall net, low gross and winner in each class with the highest net Stableford points.   Format at the Palmer is net aggregate while the net four-ball applies at the Player.
