AIGTP sets tour for golf media

MANILA, Philippines - The Association for Inbound Golf Tourism Philippines (AIGTP) Inc. will hold a familiarization tour for 12 foreign golf media editors next month aimed at promoting the country’s various championship courses and at the same time boost the country’s It’s More Fun in the Philippines tourism promo.

Editors from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the US will visit some of the top courses in Metro Manila and the Fairways and Bluewater in Boracay in a six-day tour organized by AIGTP and the Tourism Promotions Board in cooperation with the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) and www.golftourismph.com.

The fam tour, set Oct. 5-10, is also aimed to send out the It’s More Fun in the Philippines experience to both golfers and non-golfers alike. It will also serve as a prelude to the country’s bid to host a major international event – the Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) in 2016.

Microtel South Forbes and the Resorts World Group will host the select group which will also test the Mt. Malarayat, Eagle Ridge, South Forbes Golf, Valley Golf Club and Fairways and Bluewater layouts.

Other backers of the event are the Bay Leaf in Intramuros, the Bel-Air Bus and Regent Travel. For details, visit www.golftourismph.com.
