Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Cup slated

MANILA, Philippines - The Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter stages the ninth Highlands Ladies Cup on Nov. 22 with a merry mix of players and guests from various sectors joining the country’s leading golfing ladies in the tournament at Midlands Golf Club in Tagaytay.

Registration is ongoing with a full-pack field expected to participate in the annual 18-hole tournament to be played under the System 36 scoring format. Fee is pegged at P3,500 for members and P4,000 for non-members, inclusive of green fee, cart and lunch.

As in its past staging, fabulous prizes will be up for grabs in various categories of the tournament, also held to foster camaraderie and friendship among the participants, including executives and corporate bigwigs as well as guests from the government and private sectors.

Felix Ang, president of CATS Motors, and Willie Ocier, vice chairman of Belle Corp., are expected to lead the hitting of the ceremonial drives to kick off the tournament which will have shotgun start at 8 a.m.

The event also serves as a fund-raiser for THLC’s favorite charity, the Sisters of Mary and the Boys and Girls Town in Silang, Cavite with the mission of education for employment.

Glydel Mercado-Gutierrez shot a gross 85 and captured the ladies crown while Tina Gonzales took the low net title with a 70 last year’s edition of the event. Doy Mercado is the defending low gross champion while Howard Ching copped the overall gross title last year.

Other titles to be disputed are the Classes A, B and C and the seniors crown.
