Unbeaten RTU, DLSU collide in Smart taekwondo

MANILA, Philippines - Two unbeaten senior men’s teams – Rizal Technological University and De La Salle University – collide tomorrow in a featured match of the SMART Philippine Taekwondo League at SM Masinag.

RTU leads Group B with two straight victories, while DLSU trails with one win.  

RTU beat San Sebastian, 50-46, last July 12 at SM Fairview and University of the East, 89-75, last Aug. 3 at SM Bicutan.

DLSU fought hard to trim Far Eastern University, 38-35, also last July 12 at SM Fairview.

The other men’s team matches tomorrow pit Don Bosco Technical College against Lyceum of the Philippines University, National University against Emilio Aguinaldo College and San Sebastian against DLSU.

College of Saint Benilde goes up against San Beda and Letran faces EAC in the two women’s competitions at SM Masinag.

The tournament organized by the Philippine Taekwondo Association and supported by MVP Sports Foundation, SMART Communications Inc., PLDT, TV5, Meralco, Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee, uses PTA’s officiating system like PSS, ESS and IVR to eliminate human error and ensure accurate, fair and spectator-friendly bouts.
