Greats-Stalwarts showdown end in draw

Alder Almo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -- PBA Greats and Stalwarts failed to break the series standoff as the third installment of the novelty game ended in a 136-all draw Friday night in the 2014 PBA All Star Weekend at the Mall of Asia Arena.

His confidence bouyed up by sharing the Slam Dunk title with Justin Melton earlier, Rey Guevarra continued his impressive run in this year's PBA All Star Weekend by dropping 34 points to pace the Greats.

Guevarra gave the Greats a 124-113 lead with his jumper but collapsed in the end as the Stalwarts came roaring back to tie the game.

The Greats went to Willie Miller in the final play but his shot rimmed out.

Both the Greats and the Stalwarts have split their first two meetings since this novelty game replaced the Rookies-Sophomores showdown in 2012.
