TV5’s Game Seven telecast tops ratings

MANILA, Philippines - TV5’s live telecast of the Game 7 showdown between the San Mig Coffee Mixers and the Barangay Ginebra  Kings Tuesday ranked as the No. 1 most watched primetime program in Mega Manila with  5.4 million viewers.

It posted a chart-topping 10.1 percent AMR (Average Minute Rating) and 32.8 shares, based on overnight data from Nielsen Media Research.

The Game 7 telecast also ranked high in the National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) garnering 9.3 percent AMR and 31 percent share. At its peak, the game was watched by almost 5.4 million viewers or 12.4 percent AMR and 48.4 percent audience share.

It bettered the combined viewership of ABS-CBN and GMA which garnered around three million viewers.

The league also broke its live attendance record with 24,883 fans in attendance at the SMART Araneta Coliseum last Wednesday.

“The series was tightly fought between the two popular ballclubs. I’m amazed at how the fans love both teams and I’m also very happy with the outstanding viewership ratings the PBA semifinals brought to TV5,” said TV5 president and CEO Noel Lorenzana.
