ICTSI-JGFP inter-school resumes at Intramuros

MANILA, Philippines - One hundred kids from 31 private schools will slug it out for top honors in Division 2 of the ICTSI-JGFP Inter-School Championships conducted by The Junior Golfers League kicking off tomorrow at the hazard-laden Club Intramuros Golf Course. 

The two-month event featuring players from kindergarten to high school competing in eight different age brackets serves as the developmental tour of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines in coordination with the TJGL.

Entered are Ateneo, Xavier, Poveda, Saint Michael the Archangel School of Rizal, The Bridge School, Colegio San Agustin, San Beda College-Alabang, Makati Hope Christian School, OB Montessori-Greenhills, OB Montessori Center, La Salle-Greenhills, La Salle-Canlubang, HEDCEN/The Little Farm House, ICA, Beacon Academy, Bloomfield Academy, British School Manila, Chinese International School Manila, Community of Learners, Divine Light Academy, Domuschola International School, Don Bosco-Mandaluyong, Heaven’s Door Christian Academy, Iverson School, Lincolnshire International, MCA Montessori, MGC New Life Christian Academy, Miriam College, Notre Dame Greater Manila, Rizal School, Singapore School Manila, Japanese School and The Masters Academy.

Events on the tap in the series, backed by Pancake House Group, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Yellow Cab, McDonald’s and the Philippine Golf Foundation, are Midgets 3 for Grades 1-3 in the boys division, Junior Boys for Grades 4-7 and Senior Boys for Grades 8-12. The girls, meanwhile, is divided into Grades 1-3, Grades 4-7 and Grades 8-12.

A separate competition for kindergarten kids, Peewee for boys and girls, is also included.

The series will next be held at the Navy Golf Club on Sept. 15, then at Army on Oct. 6 and 13, back at Navy on Nov. 3 and back to Intramuros on Nov.10 for the final round. 

Format of play will be Molave point system with three out of the six games to be counted in determining the individual winners.
