First Saturday chess resumes

MANILA, Philippines - The first Saturday chess tournament resumes this weekend with another huge field expected to vie for top honors in various divisions at the Perez Bldg. (4th floor) in Doña Soledad Ave. cor. Australia St., Better Living Subd., Parañaque City.

The 63rd staging of the monthly tournament is open to all untitled and rated players with NCFP rating of 1950 and below.

Events on tap are the seniors, collegiate, high school, elementary and women’s divisions.

The event is organized by the Parañaque Chess Association, headed by Perez, and sponsored by Tagaytay City Mayor Bambol Tolentino, Rep. Roilo Gomez, Councilor Benjo Bernabe, Barangay Captain Kap Virata, Chona Navarro, Boy Francisco, Spare and Strike, Shakey’s Pizza (SM Bicutan), LPGMA and Magnolia Beverages.
