Magnaye, Vivas cop Prima badminton doubles

MANILA, Philippines - National players Ariel Magnaye and Paul Vivas proved too much for fellow nationals Joper Escueta and Ronel Estanislao as they won the men’s doubles open crown of the sixth Prima Pasta Badminton Championship recently at the Powersmash badminton center on Pasong Tamo, Makati.

Magnaye and Vivas outclassed Escueta and Estanislao in the final round, 21-19, 21-19, to capture the title of the annual competition organized by Team Prima chairman Alexander Lim and sanctioned by the Philippine Badminton Association.   

Golden Shuttlers Foundation Gelita Castilo and Dia Nicole Magno, meanwhile, upset national players Flo Lamigo and Aires Montillo, 21-13, 21-16, to win the women’s doubles open crown of the event supported by Boysen Paints, Morning Star Milling, Mabz Builders, ILO Construction, Monolith Construction, Pioneer Life, Promax, RSL Badminton Rackets and RFM Corp.
