UE rules UAAP HS volleyball
MANILA, Philippines - Defending champion University of the East upstaged challenger National U, 25-18, 25-17, 26-24, and pulled off its ninth straight title in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines high school volleyball tournament Wednesday at the UE-Caloocan gym.
The UE Junior spikers swept all rivals en route to its 12th title overall in 18 years since the league introduced the boys volleyball competition in 1995.
NU finished second, UST third, Ateneo fourth, La Salle Zobel fifth and UP Integrated School sixth and last.
“With sheer determination, courage and the fighting heart of a true warrior, the UE Junior Warriors gave everything they’ve got and finished the fight in three sets,†said UE physical education director Rod Roque.
