Moto season kicks off at Speedworld Feb. 10
MANILA, Philippines - The 2013 motorcycle racing season fires off next week with the NAMSSA’s National Motocross Development Program set Feb. 10 at the Speedworld MX Circuit, SM Bicutan in Parañaque City.
Over a hundred entries are expected to clash for top honors in 15 championship categories. Registration opens at 7 a.m. followed by the practice sessions and the rider’s briefing.
Races are set from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The event also serves as tune-up races for the NAMSSA riders who will banner the Philippine team in the 2013 FIM Asia Motocross Supercross Championship in Palawan on March 21-24.
The NAMSSA is the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Philippine Sports Commission’s duly recognized national sporting association for motorcycle sports. It is also affiliated with the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme, the global authority for motorcycle sports.
Meanwhile, the on-road motorcycle racers take center stage the following weekend when the 2013 Repsol Road Racing Championship (National Street Race Development Program) unfolds on Feb. 17 in Parang, Marikina City. The NAMSSA-sanctioned event is organized and promoted by Sonicboom Motorsports and supported by the local branches of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers and local motorcycle clubs.
In an effort to provide its members an opportunity to attend a world championship motorcycle sports event, the NAMSSA is organizing an affordable package tour that will give one the chance to witness and experience the 2013 Motocross Grand Prix of Thailand (Round 2 of the FIM MX1/MX2 World Motocross Championship) on March 8-10, 2013 in Si Racha, Chonburi, Thailand.
