Runners to run in Halloween costumes

MANILA, Philippines - The adobo Run After Dark will hold its third staging on Oct. 20 with over 5,000 runners expected to participate at SM Mall of Asia grounds.

Assembly time is set after sundown with participants encouraged to don their creepiest and craziest Halloween costumes, the event being the magazine’s trademark Halloween-themed night run and flagship event of the year.

Cash prizes are up for grabs in the event, sponsored by Adobo Magazine, the country’s premier advertising and brand communications publication, and organized by Event King, headed by Princess Galura.

Competitions will be on the 5K, 10K and 15K categories and the best in costume.

The adobo Run After Dark promises a unique experience for participants as they are treated to all-night festivities after completing the run with live music, fireworks displays, and beer-drinking.

Part of the proceeds from registrations will benefit the My Shelter Foundation, headed by social entrepreneur Illac Diaz. Their pet project, “Isang Litrong Liwanag” was also launched at last year’s adobo Run After Dark and has since gained worldwide recognition and support from the United Nations for the grassroots lighting program.
