Martin sustains hot form, cops 12-U plum
MANILA, Philippines – Jacob Martin continued to dish out fine form, humbling Miko Eala, 6-4, 7-5, in the finals to capture the 12-Under crown in the 14th Angeles City National Age Group Championship Open at the Angeles City Tennis Club, Villa Gloria Subd. in Angeles City, Pampanga recently.
Martin booted out Luigi Bongco, 4-0, 4-1, in the quarterfinals then bundled out Manuel Balce III, 6-1, 7-5, to arrange a final showdown with Eala.
The 11-year-old find from Xavier School held his own against Eala in the championship to clinch his fourth straight victory in the current summer season.
He earlier won the Babolat Palawan crown, reigned in the Alabang Tru-Flex tournament then annexed another crown in the Baguio Junior Tennis Championship of Juntaphil two weeks ago.
