Tuason Racing School parades tough breed of circuit racers

MANILA, Philippines - The Tuason Racing School-Castrol Team hopes to surpass last year’s feat as it parades a competitive lineup in the 2012 Philippine GT Championship Series kicking off today at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Multi-titled Mike Tuason makes a big comeback in circuit racing as he joins top contender Veli-Matti Kaikkonen and newcomer Micky Kim on the Castrol-TRS Racing Team powered by Castrol, Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, Coke Zero, Oakley, Toptul, OMP, C! Magazine, Speedlab and Aguila Auto Glass.

Tuason took the overall runner-up crown two years back and takes another shot at the plum this season at the GT300 title in a Mazda RX7.

Kaikkonen rose as the biggest threat for the title midway in the series with his HÄFELE Mitsubishi Evo 8. This year, he’s taking a more serious crack at the title as he tackles the big challenge of the top guns head on in the GT 300 class.

Newcomer Micky Kim, a Korean national who took advantage of the TRS racing career ladder program, is a talented potential champion who’s out to prove his class in the GT 100 in a TRS Cup Ford Fiesta racing car.

“This will be an exciting and challenging season with the return of former champions and the big preparation of the other top contenders. Definitely, we will be ready and hopefully, this year will be another milestone season for us,” said Castrol-TRS team manager Mike Tuason.
