'Dirty Ice Cream' poker up

MANILA, Philippines - The Dirty Ice Cream Cup, named after one of the most decorated Filipino poker players, will be held March 15-20 with a guaranteed prize pool of P5-million at the Metro Card Club at Metrowalk Complex in Ortigas, Pasig.

The buy-in is P10,000 and dozens of tickets are being up for grabs thru Metro’s daily tournaments. Metro is also handing out free seats thru its TV, radio and social network promotions.

“The DICC basically started when poker wasn’t too big here in the Philippines around six years ago,” said Arce. “It was in my house, actually. I just invited people for a poker tournament for my birthday. This was when there was no poker at all in the country except for home games. So we did a tournament at my house with no rake and a group of 50 people and that’s how it started.”
