Batino sizzles in EK karting
STA. ROSA, Philippines – PinoyKarting.com - Motul Racing takes a 1-2-4 finish at the fifth leg of the 2011 Petron Super Karting Series held in Enchanted Kingdom.
Don Batino prevailed in mixed weather conditions to win the SQ Expert Class with teammates Raul Barretto and Nike Mora taking second and fourth place finishes, respectively. In the final race, Batino set the fastest time in the third lap and with a consistent pace he built a 7.708 second lead to finish the 16-lap race in 8 minutes, 53.841 seconds.
With the win, Batino regains the overall lead by 46 points ahead of Cebu’s Peterson Lim for the 2011 Petron SQ Karting crown. Mora and Barretto hold the third and fourth spot.
PK-Motul Racing Team has been the consistent pole-sitter in the past five SQ races. Batino has three pole positions while Mora and Barretto have one each. They also won three out five SQ Expert Class races in the series. The team is sponsored by Motul, Meister Philippines, Animo Events, KartPlaza Manufacturing and www.PinoyKarting.com. The penultimate leg of the series will be held at Clark International Speedway on Sept. 24-25.
