PCCL Mindanao qualifier unfolds

MANILA, Philippines - Four regional teams collide today as the Mindanao leg of the 2010 Philippine Collegiate Champions League starts at the Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro City.

Davao City champion Agro-Industrial Foundation College, Gen. Santos City champion Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College, Zamboanga City champion Southern City College, and Cagayan de Oro champion Liceo de Cagayan University are the teams featured in the event, hosted by the Cagayan de Oro Basketball Federation Inc.

The regional champion will earn the right to represent Mindanao in the VisMin Zonal qualifying games slated Nov. 14-17 at the Cebu City Coliseum.

Visayas regional champion Iloilo University, Southwestern University and University of San Carlos will meet the Mindanao titlist in the VisMin Zonals, with two teams claiming berths in the Sweet 16.

Already in the Round of 16 are UAAP squads Ateneo de Manila University, Far Eastern University, De la Salle University, and Adamson University; NCAA teams San Beda College, San Sebastian College, Jose Rizal University, and Mapua Institute of Technology. CESAFI squads University of Cebu and University of Visayas are also secured of spots in the said round.
