MANILA, Philippines - Angelo Que hobbled with a four-over 75 and finished in joint 60th European Masters ruled by Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimenez in Crans Montana, Switzerland Sunday.
Que sputtered with bogeys at the back and wound up with his worst score in four days, finishing way down with a 285 that included rounds of 70, 69 and 71. He took home $7,095 (P320,000).
It was a disappointing finish for the 32-year-old Que, who came into the $2.8 million event hopeful of another impressive finish with a victory in the recent Selangor Masters and after finishing seventh in the event last year.
Jimenez held off a late charge by Edoardo Molinari of Italy, firing a 67 and winning the top $422,329 purse with a 263 total for a three-stroke victory.
Molinari also shot a 67 for a 266 worth $281,552 while Matteo Manassero, also of Italy, finished third with a 268 after a 68 worth $158,628.
Meanwhile, Que tries again this week when he joins another stellar field in the inaugural Handa Singapore Classic firing off Thursday at the Orchid Golf Club.
