MANILA, Philippines - Perpetual Help pummeled host San Sebastian, 21-5, 21-13, over the weekend to set in motion its back-to-back title bid in the 86th NCAA beach volleyball competition at the La Salle-Greenhills sand court.
Keshia de Luna and April Ann Sartin flattened off Karen Berbano and Bea Uy in fashioning out a quick win for the Lady Altas.
Last year’s runner-up St. Benilde is making good its vow to go all the way this time as Giza Yumang and Rossan Fajardo smashed Mapua’s Patricia Mae Aquino and Rachelle Anne Tan, 21-14, 21-15, and Arellano U’s Mary Ann Calleja and Mary Jane Diane Ticar, 21-7, 21-16 to also remain unscathed.
Letran likewise remained unbeaten after Gena Andaya and Marinelle Carolino trounced Emilio Aguinaldo’s Charmille Belleza and Annabelle Dionela, 16-21, 21-10, 15-11, and Mapua’s Tan and Aquino, 21-9, 21-15.
EAC’s Belleza and Dionela, bounced back from their first game loss by edging San Beda’s Cherry Mae Quizon and Coline Malana, 23-21, 22-20.
