'Basyang', brownout reset NCAA games

-

MANILA, Philippines - Due to the metro-wide power outage caused by Typhoon Basyang and suspension of classes, the NCAA games pitting San Sebastian versus St. Benilde and Emilio Aguinaldo against Mapua at The Arena in San Juan City were postponed yesterday.

NCAA Management Committee chair Frank Gusi of San Sebastian said the resumption of the postponed matches will be rescheduled before the start of the second round of elimination.

“We’re postponing our games because of the typhoon. We don’t want to endanger not just our players but our students and supporters as well,” said Gusi.

Games resume tomorrow with Perpetual Help taking on Jose Rizal and Arellano U battling Mapua also at The Arena in San Juan City.

Reigning titlist San Sebastian and last year’s runner-up San Beda show the way with 3-0 (win-loss) slates while St. Benilde and Jose Rizal tote 1-0 and 2-1 cards, respectively.
