Petron volleyball unfolds in Puerto

PUERTO PRINCESA, Philippines – The search for slots to the Battle of Champions heats up when the second leg of the 2009 Petron Ladies’ Beach Volleyball Tournament reels off today at the Baywalk sand courts here.

University of the Philippines ‘ Rebecca Gail Montero and new partner Amanda Christina are tipped to make a splash in the second leg of the Petron volley circuit, now on its seventh year and organized by Tisha Abundo, a former commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Montero’s team is one of the favorites in the two-day beach volley extravaganza.
