All systems go for PSA 2002 Annual Awards

It’s all systems go for the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Annual Awards slated Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Manila.

PSA president Roberto Cuevas said 75 awards will be presented to 102 sports achievers in 2002 during the Annual Awards Night, which will be attended by sports leaders from the private and government sector.

It will be telecast by NBN-4.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo heads the list of invitees which include Philippine Sports Commission chairman Eric Buhain and the PSC board of commissioners, Philippine Olympic Committee president Celso Dayrit and all presidents and secretaries general under the POC, awardees’ guests and executives of the corporate community.

Other guests are Philippine Basketball Association chairman Butch Alejo and commissioner Noli Eala, Philippine Basketball League chairman Diolcedo Sy and commissioner Chino Trinidad, all member ball clubs of the PBA and PBL and other sports clubs and associations, Games and Amusements Board chairman Eduardo Villanueva, former GAB chairman Dominador Cepeda, former PSC chairman Philip Ella Juico, and corporate supporters of the PSA.

Cuevas said invitation cards will be sent to the awardees this week. Those who will not receive their invitation cards are requested to pick them up at the reception table on Jan. 10.

The Awards Night is sponsored by Red Bull, Photokina and Agfa and supported by Samsung, San Miguel Corp., Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Sports Commission and Adidas.
