YC2, naging malaking tagumpay

Matagumpay na idinaos ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ang grand finals at awarding ceremony ng Young Creatives Challenge (YC2) noong Marso 21, 2024 sa Samsung Hall, SM Aura, Taguig City.

Ang nasabing grandest battle of creativity ay humamig ng 579 entries from all over the country, showcasing Filipino creatives’ exceptional talents in Songwriting, Screenwriting, Playwriting, Graphic Novel, Animation, Game Development, and Online Content Creation.

At ang mga nanalo ay ang mga sumusunod :

Songwriting: Lambing by Rocky (Surigao City, Surigao del Norte);

Screenwriting (Short Film): Fishing the Moon Out of Water by John Peter Chua (Quezon City);

Screenwriting (Full-Length Film): Bugkos: End of Childhood by Breech Asher Harani (Compostela, Davao de Oro);

Playwriting: Ang Pagbuo ng Baliana by Esmeralda Albis (Minalabac, Camarines Sur);

Graphic Novel: The Girl and the Tamaraw by AJRAVII (Quezon City);

Animation: Ang Kampanilya by Meeproduction (Makati City);

Game Development: High Times by YYM Danni (Manila City); and

Online Content Creation: Rose Ann Factolerin Espina and Kirby Jay Factolerin Caragan (Cebu City).

In addition to the ?1,000,000 monetary reward, the grand winners from the Songwriting, Playwriting, Graphic Novel, Animation, and Game Development categories received assistance registering their intellectual property and promoting their winning work for production or commercial release.

Ang kompetisyon ay naggawad din ng mga runner-up bawat kategorya, kung saan ang unang runners-up ay tumatanggap ng ?500,000, second runners-up ?300,000, at ikatlong runner-up ?100,000. Binigyan din ng anim na consolation prize na ?50,000 bawat isa.

Tulad ng inirekomenda ng mga hurado, ang kategorya ng screenwriting ay nahahati sa maikli at mahaba. Ang bawat kategorya ay magkakaroon ng grand winners na tatanggap ng ?500,000, ang second placers ay may ?300,000, ang third runners-up ay ng ?100,000, at ang natitirang kalahok ay tatanggap ng ?50,000 each.

DTI also recognized the importance of online content creation, awarding ?30,000 to the best TikTok content that promoted YC2, further emphasizing the expansive nature of creativity in the digital era.

Si Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba, na kumakatawan sa DTI, ay nagpahayag ng kanyang agressiveness para sa nasabing event habang binibigyang-diin niya na ang YC2 ay itinampok ang papel ng DTI sa pagtataguyod at pagsuporta sa mga malikhaing sektor bilang integral sa pag-unlad ng ekonomiya at kultura ng bansa.

Kinilala rin ng DTI, kasama si Senator Imee Marcos, na nagtaguyod sa proyektong ito at nagbigay-diin sa makabuluhang pagsisikap ng DTI para maging matagumpay ito.
