Mayor Sara kay Defensor: Pangalanan ang ‘source’ ng anti-Cayetano text

MANILA, Philippines — “I call on Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor to stop sowing intrigue and to name the source in his pronouncements to allow people to verify the truth of his claim. Give us the name of the neophyte member of the House of Representatives from whom you received a text message with a supposed message coming from me. A responsible individual would have asked me if there is truth to the text”.

Ito ang official statement na ipinadala ni Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio sa Malacañang reporters matapos niyang hamunin si Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor na ibunyag ang source nito na nagsasabing nakatanggap siya ng text mula sa kanya para sa panawagan sa mga kongresista na balewalain ang napiling speaker ng kanyang ama na si Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano.

“People should know that it was not I who was in a panic hours before the meeting in Malacañang was supposed to happen. In fact, it was Rep. Defensor who reached out to me thru Atty. Charo Munsayac. Making last minute requests for Rep. Romualdez to which I said that I will not interfere in that matter,” wika pa ng presidential daughter.

Idinagdag pa ni Mayor Sara, si Defensor ay muling nagtangkang makausap siya at nais painitin ang isyu sa term sharing na inihayag ng Pangulo sa pagitan nina Cayetano at Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco.

“I reiterate for Rep. Defensor to name his source because I have a reputation to protect and I have the right to confront a person who is spreading disinformation. Otherwise, we can all say that you are your own source,” giit pa ng alkalde.

Humingi naman ng paumanhin si Defensor kay Mayor Sara kung na-offend ito sa kanyang naging pahayag kamakalawa pero nilinaw din ng kongresista na hindi niya sinabing nagmula sa alkalde o isang congressman ang nasabing text message.
