MANILA, Philippines — Titiyakin ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) na mapaghandaan ng husto ng men’s national team ang prestihiyosong FIVB Men’s World Championships na idaraos sa bansa sa susunod na taon.
Kaya naman, maagang sisimulan ng PNVF ang pagbuo ng malakas na koponan para makasabay sa mga world class players na darating sa bansa.
Sinabi ni PNVF president Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara na uumpisahan ang preparasyon sa susunod na buwan upang masiguro na handa ang tropa bago ang world meet.
“The timeline we are preparing for the national team will start next month after the completion of the Spikers Turf,” ani Suzara.
Pamumunuan ni men’s national volleyball head coach Sergio Veloso ang pagpili sa mga players na ipapasok sa national pool.
Kasama ni Veloso sina assistant coaches Dante Alinsunurin at Odjie Mamon.
May mga napipisil na ang coaching staff para mapasama sa pool.
Kabilang na rito ang mga players mula sa Spikers Turf at sa UAAP gayundin ang mga Pinoy players na naglalaro sa international leagues.
“Coaches Sergio, Dante, and Odjie will select the best players from the big pool. We have one year and a half to prepare and part of the agreement with the FIVB is to bring our team to more competitions. As you know, we have improved our world ranking from 117 last year to 56. Hopefully, we can be 32 or inside the top 20 in the Worlds next year,” ani Suzara.
May 25 players ang ipapasok sa national pool.
Mula sa naturang listahan, pipili ang coaching staff ng Final 12 kasama ang ilang reserves na ipaparada sa World Championships.
Gaganapin ang World Championships sa Smart Araneta Coliseum at Mall of Asia Arena.
