Suportahan natin ang Philippine team -- Ramirez

MANILA, Philippines — Nanawagan si Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William “Butch” Ramirez sa lahat ng Filipino na suportahan ang 1,496-man Philippine contingent na sasabak sa 30th Southeast Asian Games na magbubukas ngayon sa Philippine Arena sa Bocaue, Bulacan.

“Mga kababayan, magkaisa tayo para sa ating bansa, wala na ta-yong ibang bayan kungdi Pilipinas lang. Can we focus and get united for these 11 days to support our Team Philippines in the biggest fight of their lives, for honor and glory of our dear motherland,” sabi ni Ramirez sa kanyang mensahe para sa buong bansa.

Sinabi ni Ramirez na mahalaga rin sa lahat ng mga magulang at mga coaches na suportahan at patuloy na hikayatin ang mga atletang Pinoy sa kanilang pakikipaglaban para sa bansang Pilipinas.

“Parents, let us continue to motivate and inspire our athletes. To our coaches, please continue mentoring, focus on your mission to “polish our dia-monds in the rough. To all our athletes, whatever you are going through, know that we are supporting you, recognizing your sacrifices and cheering you on,” pahayag ni Ramirez na siya rin ang Chief of Mission ng Team Philippines.

“Let us all enjoy this experience, for when will we ever have the Games visit us again? It is our chance to see high-level competition played within our backyard.  So I enjoin all of you, get your flaglets waiving and let us troop to the venues to show our support to our teams.”

Pinaalala rin ni Ramirez na ang susunod na hosting ng bansa sa Sea Games ay sa 2029 pa o mahigit sampung taon mula ngayon.

“When we all look back at this, may we all have the confidence to say that we gave our very best, as an athlete, as a worker or as a Filipino cheering on their kababayans. All for flag and country. Mabuhay ang atletang Pilipino!” aniya.
