Sa pagpapahiram ng mga atleta sa Vietnam SEA Games

MANILA, Philippines — Isa si Olympic Games gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz sa mga military athletes na nag-uwi ng anim na gintong medalya sa nakaraang 31st Southeast Asian Games sa Hanoi, Vietnam.

Pinahalagahan kahapon ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez ang pagpapahiram ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ng mga military athletes.

“We thanked the Armed Forces of the Philippines for these athletes,” ani Ramirez. “The contributions of the AFP proved vital to our success in the SEA Games.”

Tumapos ang Pinas sa fourth place sa Vietnam SEA Games sa nakolektang 52 gold, 70 silver at 104 bronze medals.

Bukod kay Diaz ng Phi­lippine Air Force (PAF), ang iba pang military athletes na humugot ng ginto sa Vietnam SEA Games ay sina trackster Clinton Bautista (Navy), boxers Ian Clark Bautista (Navy) at Eumir Marcial (Air Force), muay fighter Phillip Delarmino (Navy) at sina wo­men’s basketball players Janine Pontejos (Army) at France Mae Cabinbin (Army) at Marizze Andrea Cabinbin (Navy).

Nag-ambag din ang mga military-athletes ng 11 silver at 16 bronze medals kasama ang tig-dalawang pilak nina rowers Cris Nievarez (Army) at Joanie Delgaco (Navy) at WGM Janelle Frayna (Air Force).
