Lucas: I lost to a great legend
KUALA LUMPUR -- Bago ang pakikipagsuntukan niya kay Manny Pacquiao ay sinabi na ni Lucas Matthysse na posible na siyang magretiro kung mabibigong maidepensa ang kanyang suot na WBA welterweight belt.
Kahapon ay tinalo ni Pacquiao si Matthysse via 7th round TKO para agawin sa Argentinian ang hawak nitong WBA belt sa Axiata Arena.
“First I would like to rest and go back home. The hard work has been done. The fight has taken place. I lost, but I walk away with my head raised. I’m sorry to Argentina, but I’m fine. Thank you for all the love and support, and we’ll be seeing all my family and friends soon,” ani Matthysse.
Ito ang unang pagkakataon na natalo si Matthysse sa pamamagitan ng isang TKO.
Aminado ang 35-anyos na si Matthysse na nahirapan siyang pantayan ang bilis at lakas ng 39-anyos na Filipino world eight-division champion.
“Fighting Manny Pacquiao is the most difficult part about fighting Pacquiao,” wika ni Matthysse sa fighting Senator.
“He’s a great fighter. He’s a great champion. You win some, and you lose some. Today was my turn to lose, but I lost to a great fighter and a great legend in Manny Pacquiao,” dagdag pa nito.
