Ross, Guiao pinagmulta sa verbal spat

MANILA, Philippines – Sina NLEX coach Yeng Guiao at San Miguel Beer guard Chris Ross ang unang namultahan ngayong season matapos magkasagutan nitong Biyernes sa Cuneta Astrodome.

Pinagbabayad ng P11,000 at P2,600 sina Guiao at Ross upang maging kauna-unahang naparusahan sa pamumuno ni PBA officer-in-charge Willie Marcial.

Mas malaki pa sana ang multa kay Guiao ngunit hindi napatunayan na may sinabi siyang racist remark kay Ross.

“As a result, the Office of the Commissioner finds no sufficient basis to discuss the matter of an alleged racist remark,” pahayag ni Marcial na iginiit na walang lugar sa PBA ang racism.

“It is totally unacceptable in our society and in sports. The PBA will not hesitate to act if the evidence so warrants. The PBA, its players and its officials are called upon to uphold the highest standard of respect that our youth can look upon as example,” dagdag niya.

Samantala, maaari namang masuspinde at mapagmulta sina Michael Miranda ng NLEX, Raymond Almazan at Eric Camson.

Nasipa sa laro si Miranda matapos tadyakan sa bayag si Ross, habang nagsuntukan naman sina Almazan at Camson.
