The Nationalist People’s Coalition is looking into the origins of Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who ran and won as an independent candidate but later joined the party that recently entered into an alliance with President Marcos’ Partido Federal Pilipinas, NPC chairman and former Senate president Vicente Sotto III said yesterday.

President Marcos met with newly elected Senate President Francis Escudero and other senators over dinner, a day after a shakeup in the Senate leadership.

If it’s any consolation, the recent coup at the Senate was at least wildly entertaining.

Today’s headlines are focused on the ouster of Miguel Zubiri from the Senate presidency.

Based on their fact-finding investigation, PSA Assistant National Statistician Marizza Grande said Guo's mother, Amelia Leal, "is not existing" as she does not have any birth, marriage or death certificate.
