MANILA, Philippines — Tatanggap ng mas mataas na benepisyo ang mga miyembro ng Social Security System (SSS).
Ito ayon sa SSS ay oras na maipasa ang panukalang SS Reform Act of 2017 na binubusisi na sa Senado.
Sa ilalim ng reform act, ang isang miyembro na may 30 paying years ay tatanggap ng P20,300 benepisyo kada buwan mula sa kasalukuyang maximum pension na P10,900 sa 2026.
Ang benepisyo naman sa maternity, sickness, at funeral ay tataas base sa computed monthly salary credit (MSC) at sa bilang ng taon ng kontribusyon oras na maipatupad ang panukalang Reform Act of 2017 na binubusisi na sa Senado na siyang magiging daan ng pagtaas ng matatanggap na benepisyo ng mga miyembro at pensioners.
“The estimated pension could increase to as much as P20,300 by 2026. As we have proposed earlier, the adjustment in MSC should increase gradually every year to P20,000 next year, to P25,000 in 2020, and P30,000 in 2021. As we increase the coverable income or the MSC, the benefits also increase because this is the basis for computation of SSS benefits,” pahayag ni SSS President at Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc.
Sa ilalim ng kasalukuyang maximum MSC na P16,000 at 11 percent monthly contribution rate (na hati ang employer at employee na employed members), ang maximum basic monthly pension nito ay P10,900 para sa mga miyembro na magreretiro na may 30 years contribution.
Umaasa si Dooc na ang contribution increase ay maipatutupad sa January 2018 makaraang maipatupad ang Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) bill at pagpasa ng SS Reform Act of 2017.
