Heneral Luna didn’t only earn good reviews from the critics as a film, he was cited for his performance. And most of all, kumita ang pelikula. Which may have been the reason why was he offered as one of the main kontrabida in the top and long running action series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, topbilled by Coco Martin.
Malaking bonus para kay John ang mabigyan siya ng ka-partner na ka-kutsaba niya sa kabulastugang ginagawa niya as General Hipolito. And played by one of the actresses John said, he looks up to, Lorna Tolentino.
At heto at may malaking bonus pang biglaan na lang dumating sa kanya, yes, as leading man to no less than megastar Sharon Cuneta in the soon-to-be released horror movie, Kuwaresma, directed by Erik Matti.
Kuwaresma, a production of Reality Entertainment, owned by Dondon Monteverde, also serves as the comeback movie of former child actress Guila Alvarez, who turned her back in showbiz and joined the corporate world 20 years ago.
Also in the cast are siblings in real life, Ken and Pat Gonzales, who play twins in the movie.
Kuwaresma, according to Sharon, marks the first horror film she has agreed to star in.
Of Sharon, she lost a lot of weight, which becomes her.
“At least, masasabi kong sexy na akong muli,” ani Sharon.
Obviously, raring to keep herself busy, Sharon just came from a concert tour abroad.
Sharon’s last movie, Three Words To Forever, which reunited her with former favorite leading man, Richard Gomez, was released last year.

Gerald at Julia may todong halikan
Nagiging beach lover na sina Gerald Anderson at Bea Alonzo, na obviously, siyang dahilan why Gerald had a beach house built in a resort in Beneg, Botolan, Zambales.

Any comment, Bea and Joshua Garcia?
Of Julia and Joshua, a horror film reportedly is being prepared for the two of them by Star Cinema.
Wala pang detalye tungkol sa project, at kung meron man, ayaw muna itong ibunyag ng mga kinauukulan.
But the film excites pareho sina Julia at Joshua. Parehong mahilig manood ng horror films ang dalawa, pag-amin nila, nagustuhan nila ng labis ang Eerie, the horror film which starred Charo Santos-Concio at Bea.
Loisa na-trap sa sasakyan
Nasa loob pala ng isang umaandar na sasakyan, kasama ang ilang kaibigan si Loisa Andalio, noong Lunes nang ginulat tayo ng 6.1 na lindol sa Metro Manila.
Noong una, akala daw niya, niyugyog lang ng mga kaibigan ang kanilang upuan. Kaya, sumisigaw daw siya habang sinasaway ang mga ito.

The sweethearts are both in the cast of the series, The General’s Daughter, which has Angel Locsin playing the title role.
