Abalos uupong DILG chief

MANILA, Philippines — Hinirang ni presump­t­ive­ president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang kanyang campaign ma­nager bilang­ susunod na pinuno ng Department of Interior and Local Go­vernment (DILG).

Ang paghirang kay Abalos ay inanunsiyo ng tagapagsalita ni Marcos na si Atty. Vic Rodriguez.

Kinumpirma rin ni Ro­driguez na tinanggap ni Abalos ang posisyon.

“I would like to announce that chairman Benhur Abalos has been nominated to lead the Department of the Interior and he has accepted the challenge to lead the Department of the Interior and Local Go­vernment,” ani Rodriguez sa isang press briefing.

Matatandaan na si Abalos at nagsilbing chair­man ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority­ (MMDA) sa ilalim ng admi­nistrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ay nagbitiw sa posisyon upang maging national campaign manager ni Marcos.

Nauna nang pinangalan­ ni Marcos ang unang mi­yem­bro ng kanyang magi­ging Gabinete na si presumptive vice president Sara Duterte-Carpio bilang ka­li­him ng Department of Education.
