MANILA, Philippines - Kasunod nang pagkansela ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa unilateral ceasefire sa Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) ay tuluyan nang tinanggal ng Pangulo ang immunity sa mga ito.
Sinabi ni Presidential Peace Adviser Sec. Jesus Dureza, nabigyan na nila ng notice ng kanselasyon sa Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG) sina NDF chief political consultant Jose Maria Sison at Fidel Agcaoili, ang chairman ng rebel negotiating panel.
“Following the President’s announcement of the cancellation of the peace talks with the CPP/NPA/NDF and per his instructions, the Government is hereby serving this notice of the termination of the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG),” wika pa ni Dureza.
Ang JASIG ay pinirmahan ng GRP peace panel at CPP/NPA/NDF noong Pebrero 1995 kung saan nakasulat ang termination ay maaring gawin matapos ang 30 araw kapag naibigay na ang notice.
Ito rin ang nagbibigay garantiya sa pagtiyak ng kaligtasan at walang magaganap na pag-aresto sa mga negosyador, consultants at iba pang miyembro ng NDF.
