MANILA, Philippines — Matapos ang halos isang taon na pagkakatengga, muling masisilayan ang matitinding bakbakan ng matitikas na beach volleybelles sa bansa sa paglarga ng 2021 Gatorade-Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup sa Biyernes sa SBMA sand courts.
Kumpirmado na ang pagsabak ng walong koponan tampok ang guest team na Kennedy Solar Energy-PetroGazz na babanderahan nina Ariane Luna Alarcon at Christina Canares.
Masaya si PSL chairman Philip Ella Juico sa pagbabalik-aksiyon ng volleyball sa bansa sa pakiki-pagtulungan nito sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) at local government unit sa SBMA.
“We want to thank the teams, especially our guest team PetroGazz, for helping us restart our beach volleyball tournament using a bubble setup,” ani Juico.
Hahataw din ang dalawang pares mula sa Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors na sina Bang Pineda at Jonah Sabete bukod pa kina DM Demontano at Jackie Estoquia.
Lalahok din ang F2 Logistics (Jenny Mar Senares at Kyla Angela), Chery Tiggo-United Auctioneers, Inc. (Ella Viray at Theresa Ramas), Abanse Negrense 1 (Alexa Polidario at Erjan Magdato), Abanse Negrense 2 (Jennifer Cosas at Gelimae Villanueva) at Toby’s Sports (Jonah San Pedro at Javen Sabas).
“By becoming the first volleyball league to restart its season in the coronavirus era, we have a very big responsibility to our players, coaches, team owners, the media and other stakeholders,” dagdag ni Juico.
Siniguro naman ni Juico na magiging ligtas ang pagdaraos ng beach volley tournament dahil mahigpit na patakaran ang ipatutupad sa buong panahon ng torneo.
Nakabantay ang IATF, DOH at SBMA sa galaw ng lahat sa bubble.
“Rest assured that we will do everything to observe all the necessary health and safety protocols in accordance to the policies of the IATF,” ani Juico.
