How religious is Jamie Rivera, dubbed as the Inspirational Diva, whose songs of inspirations sound more as a prayer, at the media conference of her latest inspirational single, We Give Our Yes, presided over by ABS-CBN Corporation’s PR manager, Aaron Domingo.
We Give Our Yes is the official mission song of the 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines (February 17).
Joining her and Aaron were composer Fr. Carlo Magno and ABS-CBN Star Music Creative Director, Jonathan Manalo.
In any case, Jamie’s reply: “I belong to a very prayerful family.
“Lumaki akong tuwing 6 in the evening, tinatawag na kami ng mother ko na magkakapatid para magrosaryo.
“To date, I carry a rosary always at walang araw na ‘di ako nagre-recite ng rosary.”
Her first inspirational single was Heal Our Land, na naging isang album and contained, too, the songs, Pananagutan at Kahanga-Hanga.
Of We Give Our Yes, naririnig na ito ngayon sa mga misa sa simbahan. In fact daw, kahit sa Vatican ay naririnig na ito mismo.
In Oakland in Columbia, hindi lang daw inaawit ng kabataan ang We Give Our Yes kundi isinasayaw pa at may accompanying dance video ang record.
Said Jonathan: “Impressive ang response sa record, considering na kung kailan lang ito nai-release ng Star Records.”
Well, congrats again, Jamie.
Of Jamie, she started as a professional pop singer after the EDSA Revolution.
Immediately, she became a hit because of her debut album, Hey It’s Me, which earned five gold saleswise.
Tulad nina Lea Salonga, Monique Wilson, Joanna Ampil at Ima Castro, nagkaroon ng pagkakataon si Jamie to play Miss Saigon in the Broadway play.
Now 54 years old, Jamie is married to JB Mendoza.
They have a daughter na kasalukuyang nasa America.
Heart at Jericho, parehong naging maligaya
Hindi naman inililihim nina Heart Evangelista at Jericho Rosales na, at one time, naging ‘sila.’
Well, happily married na both ang dalawa. Si Jericho sa non-showbiz at kilalang vlogger na si Kim Jones.
The couple are expecting their first baby though hindi nila kinukumpirma kung magkaka-baby na nga sila.
On the other hand, now six years married to Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, hopeful si Heart na magkakaanak din sila in time ni Gov. Chiz.
Loisa at Ronnie, magpapaiyak
The currently showing Unloving U on iWantTFC.com, is Loisa Andalio at Ronnie Alonte’s follow-up, so to speak, sa kanilang Valentine offering din last year, the series, James & Pat & Dave, starring, too, Donnie Pangilinan.
In Unloving U, step siblings sila, so to speak, who fell in love.
“Our parents (played by Gelli de Belen at Ariel Rivera) are supposedly husband and wife,” ani Loisa. “Anak nila kami sa kani-kanilang unang asawa.
“Si Ronnie ni Tita Gelli, ako ni Sir Ariel,” susog ni Loisa.
“Did they end up together?,” tanong namin.
“Basta panoorin n’yo. Nakakaiyak nga lang,” tugon ni Loisa.
