Sobrang dami ng taong dumalo sa premiere ng comeback movie as director ni Direk Carlo J. Caparas, Angela Markado, Monday (November 30) evening sa Megamall.
Sa dalawang sinehan ipinalabas ang movie, both of which were jampacked.
No wonder, grinning from ear to ear si Direk Carlo. And of course, his wife, Donna Villa and children, Peach and CJ.
Siyang-siya rin si Ginoong Jun Sevilla, owner ng Oro de Siete Productions, Inc., which co-produced Angela Markado, with Viva Films.
Angela Markado opens in theaters nationwide today, December 2.
Sidelights: Kasama ni Andi Eigenmann, who plays the title role of Angela Markado, ang actress-mom niyang si Jaclyn Jose.
I guess, proud na proud si Jaclyn for Andi, dahil markadong maituturing ang performance ni Andi as a rape victim, na binalikan ang attackers, one by one. And single-handedly.
Equally good din sa kanilang performances ang limang gumanap na rapists ni Andi, sina Paolo Contis, Polo Ravales, Felix Roco, CJ Caparas at Epi Quizon. Ganundin ang mga artistang who played support, kumbaga.
They include the younger ones Mika dela Cruz, Ysabelle Peach, Bugoy Cariño at Buboy Villar.
The veterans are Anna Roces, Marita Zobel and the ever reliable Bembol Roco. Former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate, Bret Jackson plays Andi’s boyfriend.
Mag-amang Bembol at Felix, pinalakpakan
Speaking of Bembol, pinalakpakan siya ng audience in two of his scenes in Angela Markado.
Likewise, nakatanggap din ng palakpak si Peach, who helped Andi sa kanyang paghihiganti sa isa sa kanyang attackers.
For those who doesn’t know it, Peach is the younger of two children nina Direk Carlo and Donna. The elder one is CJ.
Both CJ and Peach are interested in showbiz. But not as performers, mind you. But as producer and director, respectively.
Sayang at walang eksena sina Bembol at Felix. Like Bembol, Felix equally delivered sa role niya as one of Andi’s rapists.
Felix is one of Bembol’s twin sons. The other one, Dominic, is also in showbiz, too.
Direk Carlo at Donna V. balik sa dating gawi
Ang dami sa mga nanood ang nagandahan sa Angela Markado. They all believed the film was a fitting comeback for Direk Carlo J., who promises to be busy than ever anew. ‘Di lang bilang director but as co-producer ng kanyang wife na si Donna.
Direk Carlo and Donna had done numerous films for their own Golden Lions Productions.
These movies contributed to the success of all the still mga “popular” actors who did movies for their film firm.
Si Kris Aquino ang bida in their first try bilang producer, The Vizconde Massacre. Gumawa pa ng ilang movies si Kris with them, na pawang markado rin ang role.
Dawn Zulueta played the title role in The Maggie dela Riva Story. Nang magkaroon ng sequel ang Vizconde Massacre, the husband and wife tandem nina Direk Carlo at Donna chose to have Vina Morales play the lead role.
Batangas Governor Vilma Santos topbilled The Lipa Massacre. Another massacre movie ng Golden Lion Films, The Antipolo Massacre na pinagbidahan ng ngayo’y namamayapa nang si Liezl Martinez kung saan si Angelica Panganiban ang gumanap na anak ni Liezel. Yes, the Claudia Buenavista in the high rating series, Pangako Sa ’Yo and the komikera in the gag show, Banana Sundaes.
And last, but not least, Cesar Montano, who played the title role in The Chavit Singson Story.
