MANILA, Philippines — Maglalagay ang Phi­lippine National Police (PNP) ng mobile jail malapit sa pagdarausan ng inagurasyon ngayong araw ni President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Within the vicinity of the (inauguration) venue, we will put a bus of the BJMP (Bureau of Jail Ma­nagement and Peno­logy) in case the need arises. Doon natin ilalagay ‘yung mga nagiging unruly kung meron man pangyayaring ganun,” wika ni NCRPO chief, Maj. Gen. Felipe Nati­vidad.

Ang panukala ay bahagi ng paghahanda sa seguridad para sa inauguration rites sa National Museum of the Philippines, na inilarawang “kumpleto na”.

Habang kinikilala ang kanilang karapatan sa ma­payapang pagpupulong, dini-discourage ni Nati­vidad ang mga nagpoprotesta na gumamit ng effigies para sa kanilang mga mass action.

“If ever, in whatever way they would want to embarrass the new president, we already have con­tingency plans for that,” aniya pa.

Nasa 18,339 na tauhan mula sa Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Me­tropolitan Manila Deve­lopment Authority, Department of Health, at force multipliers­ ang ipapakalat sa iba’t ibang lugar sa panahon ng inagurasyon.

Sinabi ni Manila Police District director Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco na ang pag-aresto sa mga manggugulo ay last resort lamang at ipatutupad nila ang maximum tolerance.

Ang mga nagpoprotesta ay pumunta lamang sa mga itinalagang freedom park tulad ng Plaza Miranda, Plaza Dilao, Plaza Moriones, at Liwasang Bonifacio.
