MANILA, Philippines — Dalawang gold medal ang pinagulong ng Philippine national boys’ team sa 21st Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships sa Bangkok, Thailand.

Inungusan nina Art Barrientos, Stephen Luke Diwa, Marc Dylan Custodio at Singapore-based Zach Sales Ramin ang South Korea, 4933-4922, para maghari sa team event.

Nagdagdag ang 19-anyos na si Barrientos ng ginto sa kanyang ta­gumpay sa masters’ event matapos talunin si Blake Walsh ng Australia, 443-349.

Ang hospitality ma­na­gement student sa FEU Roosevelt ang naging u­nang Pinoy na nagkampeon sa masters matapos si Biboy Rivera noong 1986 edition sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“Ang bowling naman hanggang ngayon is still evolving talaga. And I believe right training and proper support will be good enough, we could bring back the glory days of bow­ling in our country,” sabi ni Barrientos kahapon sa Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum sa conference hall ng Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Sa kasamaang palad ay hindi maidedepensa ng grupo ang kanilang mga korona sa 2025 edition ng torneo sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
