Philippines-BEST hahataw sa Singapore

MANILA, Philippines — Umalis na kahapon ang 13-man Philippines Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (BEST) na sasabak sa 17th Singapore National Swimming Championships 2022 na gaganapin sa Hunyo 23 hanggang 26 sa OCBC Aquatic Center sa Singapore.

Babanderahan ni Julia Ysabelle Basa ang kampanya ng PH-BEST kung saan magtatangka itong humakot ng gintong medalya sa girls’ 15-year division.

Sariwa pa ang 15-an­yos sa pagkopo ng gintong medalya sa 10th Circle of Swimmers of Melun Val de Seine na ginanap sa Pis­cine de Melun swimming pool sa Melun, France.

Sasabak si Basa sa pitong events — 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 200m backstroke, 200m butterfly, 400m IM, 400m freestyle at 200m IM.

Kasama ni Basa sa delegasyon sina John Neil Paderes, Zahjeed Isaac Sarmiento, Ashby Canlas, Alejandro Carandang, A­rianna Carandang, Julian De Kam, Peter Dean, Geoffrey Liberato, Patricia Liberato, Paulo Liberato, Mervien Mirandilla at Amina Mondonedo.

Magsisilbing head coach si veteran mentor Virgilio de Luna habang team manager naman si Marilet Basa.

“It’s going to be a tough one for our swimmers since they’ll be competing against some of the region’s best swimmers including from host Singapore,” ani Basa.

Matatandaang humakot ang PH-BEST ng apat na ginto, limang pilak at dalawang tanso sa Melun, France.
