Choral master class in Cebu

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Choral Directors Association (PCDA) will hold the Visayas-Mindanao regional convention of its National Masterclass Series for Choral Conductors on Nov. 19-22 at the University of the Visayas main campus.

This is the first time that the PCDA holds a regional convention, which offers basic and advanced training for conductors; provides an opportunity to raise participants’ standards to international caliber; improves choral conducting, directing, and management skills; and makes available any relevant information from PCDA’s broad choral network.   Music supervisors, teachers, choir directors, conductors, coordinators, trainors, enthusiasts, voice teachers and coaches from Visayas and Mindanao are invited to join this weeklong master class.

The roster of speakers includes some of the finest and most awarded in the Philippine choral scene: Eudenice Palaruan (advanced conducting), Edgardo Manguiat (vocal techniques), Anna Piquero (basic conducting), Arwin Tan (solfege, theory and choral arranging), Leonyl Torres (movement and choreography) and Msgr. Rudy Villanueva (choral literature).

The registration fee is P3,000 for PCDA members and P4,000 for non-PCDA members. For more information, email choral_directors@yahoo.com.ph.
