Salcedo every day

- Lydia Castillo - The Philippine Star

ECHOstore has launched its ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat line of ECHOdeli items in its Makati store.

In the same vicinity where people look forward to Saturdays for their organic and natural needs, pioneering eco-friendly sustainable lifestyle proponent ECHOstore opened its doors recently to Salcedo Village residents and business people. It is open from Mondays through Saturdays and should be a convenient choice for the village community.

ECHOstore has launched its ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat line of ECHOdeli items in its Makati store. Reena Francisco’s favorite recipes are shared with ECHOstore’s community using grass-fed beef cuts from Down To Earth, free range chickens and organic eggs from Manuel Pedro and Pamora Farms and other slow food suppliers for ECHOstore.

“We made menus from our own suppliers’ famous grass-fed and pastured meats and organic vegetables, so people can taste the grass-fed beef and then cook their own recipes as well,” says Reena, resident foodie of ECHOstore.

“We also will have sandwiches to go, meals to go and other food offerings we plan to serve before lunch and before dinner,” she continues.

ECHOstore’s Body Basics Line and Home Basics, necessary for any home, are available of course. Other famous natural products like Ilog Maria from Silang, Oryspa from rice bran and insect repellants, soap and massage oils from various small producers are also in the store.

Health food and natural food believers will also find fresh juice blends and coffee to go. Due to space limitations, the café seats are limited but one can always take it out for eating in the office or home. There are daily specials which will be made on site, and breads and other take-aways are available as well.

“People like juices and want them freshly-made. So we made three variations of juice blends to start with,” Reena says.

“Our coffee line up will be the standard popular choices we serve in our Serendra, Centris and Davao branches. Usually, it’s the Iced Kapeng Pinoy or a classic cappuccino made with our Philippine coffee, of course,” says Chit Juan, ever the coffee advocate and Philippine coffee ambassador.

“We will sell coffee beans which we can grind at the store,” she adds.

Jeannie Javelosa, the third of the ECHOtrio, always shops for her vegetables and fruits at the ECHOmarket section. “I know where these veggies are from because Chit and her neighbors in Amadeo grow them organically,” she declares. She also gets her regular supply of red rice, coconut sugar and vegan calamari from the ECHOmarket.

“I get all the basics or essentials from here, including my salad dressings and cheese,” Jeannie proudly says.

Now, there is a market open everyday for Salcedo Village people. You do not have to wait long for Saturday.

Log on to www.echostore.ph and shop now if you want to do online shopping as well.
