Get jiggy with wigs

table TALK - The Philippine Star

The Philippine Star’s recent “Wig Party” was a huge success with about 600 of its employees getting jiggy with the “bigwigs”, the Belmonte family headed by the affable president and CEO Miguel.

Like a kid in a candy store, I could not stop looking around, discovering and enjoying the characters who came in an array of colors and styles of wigs.

Bashfully, Tita Rosalinda L. Orosa and I brought our wigs in a gift bag, not brave enough to put them on.

“A Funny Kind of Blue”

St. Scholastica’s alumnae and friends should be congratulated on the success of their dinner fundraiser headed by Ampy Lim and Melo Roa. The comic relief was for Leyte Benedictine communities and barangays unspared by super typhoon Yolanda.

“A FUNny Kind of Blue” featured comedians

Mitch Valdez (HS68) and Jon Santos (son of Zenaida Adriano Santos HS56) who left the dinner guests and donors in stitches.

SSAFI moderator Sr. Angelica Leviste eloquently described the night as a welcomed occasion to laugh and begin to heal together. Text and photos by Evelyn R. Garcia
